Fremont Elementary School
Fremont Elementary School was a Fresno Unified public elementary school in the Fresno High-Roeding area of Fresno, California. Zeek Reyes and Megan Ashley “Ash” Alvarez began sixth grade there during the 2002–03 school year.
Overview
Current California education records list Fremont Elementary at 1005 West Weldon Avenue and identify it as a public elementary school serving kindergarten through sixth grade. A City of Fresno community plan documented Fremont Elementary within the Fresno High/Roeding planning area by 1977, establishing the school’s presence in the surrounding district before Zeek and Ashley attended.
Location and Surroundings
The campus stood within the broad Fresno High/Roeding planning area. Zeek and Ashley lived in homes a few blocks apart in the surrounding residential area.
2002–03 School Year
Ashley moved into the area before sixth grade. Her father met Zeek’s father after bringing the Alvarez family’s car to the independent repair shop owned by Zeek’s father. Zeek therefore recognized Ashley when they began school at Fremont together.
